Voters to Congress and President Biden: It’s Time to Go Big on Health Care Reform

On March 17, Families USA and Hart Research Associates hosted a media briefing for the release of new polling data showing how COVID-19 has put health and health care reform at the top of voters’ action items for 2021. They are looking for real solutions that will make their health care more affordable so they don’t have to worry about affording the health care they need or choosing between filling a prescription and putting food on the table. In particular, they want reforms that bridge political divides to lower the price of their health care, giving them a healthy and secure future.

Frederick Isasi, Executive Director of Families USA, discussed the current political landscape. Geoff Garin, President of Hart Research Associates, presented the polling data, which shows that a substantial majority of voters— whether Republican, Democrat, or somewhere in between—want to see real health care solutions this year, including lowering health care costs and addressing prescription drugs prices.
