1. What is the Health Action Conference?
The Health Action Conference is Families USA’s annual gathering that brings together policy experts, state and national leaders, health care advocates, and community members to discuss and craft transformational solutions for reshaping the future of health care. The 2025 conference is the 30th anniversary of the conference and will focus on advancing health equity and addressing the most pressing health care challenges of our time. This year’s theme is From the Frontlines: Forging the Path Forward Together. 

2. When and where will the 2025 Health Action Conference take place?
This two-day hybrid event will be held January 2324, 2025, at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC. The event will feature a combination of in-person sessions and virtual components to ensure broad accessibility. 

3. Who should attend the conference?
The conference is open to anyone passionate about health care advocacy, including policymakers, health care professionals, community organizers, researchers, lived experience storytellers, and anyone interested in advancing health equity and improving the health care system. This includes advocacy and communications professionals from national, state, and community-based organizations, such as:

  • State-based health care advocates
  • Children’s health champions
  • Community Health Workers
  • Social justice advocates, activists, and communicators
  • Community leaders and organizers
  • Disability rights advocates
  • Health care and policy professionals
  • Oral health groups and partners
  • Primary Care Associations and health center outreach and enrollment staff

4. How do I register for the conference?
Registration can be completed online via our official conference website. Early bird registration opens on Wednesday, September 4 with discounted rates available until 11:59 pm on Friday, November 1. Standard registration rates will be available from Saturday, November 2 until 11:59 pm on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.  Late registration rates will begin on Wednesday, January 1 and be available until 11:59 pm on Monday, January 20. Onsite registration rates will be available from Thursday, January 23 and Friday, January 24. The registration fee includes access to all plenary sessions, breakout sessions and networking events. Participants will also receive conference materials, and those attending in person will have access to meals and refreshments throughout the event.

5. Are there any scholarships or financial assistance available?
Yes, Families USA offers a limited number of scholarships to support attendance for those who may otherwise be unable to participate. If you are interested in applying for assistance, please submit an application by Monday, September 23, 11:59 pm.

7. Will the conference be available online?
Yes, a virtual option will be available for those unable to attend in person. Virtual attendees will have access to live-streamed sessions, on-demand recordings, and opportunities for virtual networking.

8. How can I submit a proposal to speak or present a session at the conference?
We welcome submissions from individuals and organizations interested in presenting at the conference. The call for presenters will open on Wednesday, September 4. The deadline for submissions is Thursday, October 31, at 11:59 pm. Guidelines and submission forms can be found here.

9. What health and safety measures will be in place at the conference?
The health and safety of our attendees are a top priority. We will follow all CDC guidelines related to COVID-19 or other public health concerns. Masks and hand sanitizing stations will be available for free onsite.
