Health Justice Now Webinar Series Part 1: Advancing Equity In 2022: Administrative Priorities And What’s Next On The Legislative Landscape
04.12.2022
This is part 1 of the Health Justice Now series.
After one year in office, the Biden administration’s progress towards advancing meaningful equity reforms includes a push for COVID-19 vaccinations in Black and Latino communities, approximately $30 billion in new funding for lead pipe remediation and for environmental justice, and a range of new policies that have resulted in the highest level of health insurance coverage in our nation’s history. These steps are helpful but preliminary. Foundational and sustained changes are necessary to begin to shift health care resources into communities of color commensurate with their growing proportion of the population.
During this webinar, Families USA reviews twelve legislative and administrative policy priorities created in partnership with the Health Equity Task Force for Delivery and Payment Transformation for 2022 that would improve population health and advance health equity. We also provide a “state of play” with respect to supplemental funding and appropriations moving on the federal level that will have important equity implications.
