Simon Marshall-Shah, Families USA’s Director of Strategic Partnerships, supports strategic and collaborative plans to engage critical community stakeholders at the state and national level. Prior to joining Families, Simon worked as a senior policy analyst at the Michigan League for Public Policy where he spearheaded new research into public health funding issues, supported a “driver’s licenses for all” campaign, and led a successful advocacy strategy to eliminate a five-year Medicaid wait for some immigrants. Through his work, he developed relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers and community partners, on multiple statewide and national coalitions to provide leadership in research, project planning and legislative strategy. Previously, he also provided policy and research support related to nonprofit safety net health plans while at the Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP). Simon earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health Studies and Cognitive Science and a Master of Science in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.
