Lisa Hunter
Lisa Hunter led Families USA’s Strategic Partnerships, developing strategies that engage national, state, and local partnerships. Over the last fifteen years, Hunter worked on federal health policy and political strategy within the public and private sectors. Most recently, she led government affairs and alliance engagement at the Better Medicare Alliance. Hunter’s background includes community activism at the local level, having run for the DC Council on a platform that addressed health disparities and maternal mortality within the District. She also worked as a Director at Avalere Health. From 2010-2013, Hunter was a Special Assistant at the Department of Health and Human Services, where she advised senior leadership on various policy issues. An organizer at her core, Hunter worked on the Obama campaign in St. Louis, Missouri in 2008 upon returning from Peace Corps service in Guyana. She earned her MPP from Georgetown University and BA from Vassar College.
