Request for Information on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Initiative to Strengthen Primary Health Care

08.18.2022

Families USA submitted comments for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health’s Request for Information (RFI) on how to strengthen primary health care to improve the health and wellbeing of our nation’s families.

Central to improving the health and health care of our nation’s families is ensuring that the U.S. health care system has a robust and comprehensive primary care system. Health systems with a foundation in robust and comprehensive primary care achieve better, more equitable health outcomes and at a lower cost. We are urging the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health to bolster our primary care infrastructure to provide comprehensive, person-centered, relationship-based care that considers the needs and preferences of individuals, families and communities.
