Washington, D.C.—On Monday, June 11 Families USA and Kentucky Voices for Health held a press telebriefing discussing in detail the recent series of Medicaid eligibility restrictions approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) under executive branch waiver authority.

Speakers:

  • Frederick Isasi, Families USA’s executive director and former National Governors Association (NGA) vice president for health policy, where he served as a principal negotiator of Medicaid waivers on behalf of multiple governors;
  • Eliot Fishman, Families USA’s senior director of health policy and former director of the group responsible for Medicaid waiver review at CMS; and
  • Emily Beauregard, executive director for Kentucky Voices for Health, a leading state advocate for Kentucky health care consumers who has in-depth knowledge of Kentucky’s Medicaid program, the changes the state seeks to make through its Medicaid waiver, and the impact that will have on Kentuckians.
