Small businesses are less likely than big business to offer health insurance to their workers. To help fix this problem, the Affordable Care Act offers a new tax credit to small business owners who provide their workers with insurance. This report presents new data on the number of small businesses eligible for this tax break and how many workers could benefit as a result.
While millions of small businesses will be eligible for this tax credit, educating the small business community about the credit is challenging. The report explains why it’s important to reach out to this community, and it discusses four key reasons that the number of small businesses that use the credit will grow in the future.
