Although 2016 is an election year, health care advocates cannot afford to wait for the November results before taking the next steps in health reform. From February 4-6, Health Action 2016—one of the nation’s largest gatherings of consumer health care advocates—will bring people together from across the country to prepare for the crucial work of improving access to affordable, high-quality health care.
Registration begins November 1 for Health Action 2016, which will take place just steps from the U.S. Capitol building at the Hyatt Regency, on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
What to expect at Health Action 2016
Health Action 2016 will highlight the progress states are making, from open enrollment outreach to improving health equity using the tools of the Affordable Care Act.
Attendees at Health Action conferences hear from national and state leaders.
As in past years, Health Action 2016 will include high-profile Washington speakers. In previous years the line-up has included President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton. Last year’s 20th Health Action Conference included appearances by U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell.
Other pressing topics advocates will learn about at this year’s Health Action Conference include:
- the latest advances emerging from State Innovation Model (SIM) grants
- legislative efforts to address surprise medical bills
- reports from the field on Open Enrollment 3
