Families USA Submits Comments On the Ohio Department of Medicaid’s (ODM) Group VIII Demonstration Waiver

Families USA submitted comments strongly urging the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to reject Ohio’s Group VIII Demonstration Waiver and all future attempts from states to adopt work reporting or so called “community engagement” requirements for Medicaid eligible populations.

Ohio’s Demonstration Waiver, if approved, would establish onerous and punitive work reporting requirements (community engagement requirements) and would cause more than 61,800 Ohioans to lose their Medicaid coverage. In addition, the proposed demonstration would mean millions of dollars in wasteful state and federal government spending without improving employment or health for Ohioans.
