Consumers First Response to Federal Trade Commission/Department of Justice Request for Information on Merger Enforcement

04.21.2022

Consumers First, an alliance that brings together the interests of consumers, children, employers, labor unions, and primary care clinicians working to change the fundamental economic incentives and design of the health care system, submitted the attached comments responding to the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) and the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Request for Information (RFI) on Merger Enforcement. Consumers First greatly appreciates the administration’s interest in addressing anti-competitive behaviors. This letter specifically focuses on these practices in the health care sector and offers some high-level recommendations. This letter is signed by Consumers First Steering Committee members: American Academy of Family Physicians; American Benefits Council; American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees; Families USA; and Purchaser Business Group on Health.
