Brief for Amici Curiae Families USA Et Al. In Support of Plaintiffs-Appellants’ Petition For Rehearsing En Banc

Families USA, together with Young Invincibles and Georgians for a Healthy Future, has filed an amici brief in the case Association for Community Affiliated Plans v. Trump. This case challenges rules that have expanded the sale of short-term, junk health insurance. As we explain in our brief, short term limited duration insurance provides inadequate coverage and misleads consumers. By allowing the sale of these plans for 364 days, and then allowing their renewal, the Trump administration has undermined the single risk pool under the Affordable Care Act and increased premiums for comprehensive care. We are asking the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit for en banc review.
