Achieving the Gold Standard of Care: Transforming Pregnancy-related Medicaid Coverage to be More Holistic and Patient-centered
05.22.2024
This is part 10 of the Health Justice Now series.
Families USA held a live panel discussion on the ways that state Medicaid programs can improve pregnancy outcomes and the overall health of pregnant and postpartum people. The presentation began with a review of our recent maternal health publication, What’s Next in Maternal Health? Transforming Medicaid to Combat the Maternal Health Crisis. We then moved on to an engaging conversation with experts on the importance of improving access to Medicaid pregnancy coverage by expanding covered benefits and ensuring better integration of the non-clinical community-based workforce, specifically doulas.
