Families USA has recognized Robin Lynn Tyler, BTh, CAC, CHW, Outreach Coordinator at Central Virginia Health Services, with the Jeff Kirsch People’s Experience Award. Known as Ms. Petersburg, Robin was nominated for her advocacy for her patients and community members at the local, state, and federal levels. As a certified community health worker, she prioritizes people’s experience as she helps enroll folks in health insurance and connect them with the right resources. This past year, Robin assisted in the opening and promotion of Virginia’s first school based health center and worked in conjunction with all of the MCO’s in Virginia for Governor Youngkin’s Partnership for Petersburg (a program ensuring that all residents in the area are aware of their Medicaid benefits and how to apply and access them if they qualify).
