Statement on the Verdict in the Derek Chauvin Trial from Frederick Isasi, Executive Director of Families USA

April 21, 2021

Washington, D.C. – Frederick Isasi, Executive Director of Families USA, issued the following statement on the verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial.

“Derek Chauvin was held accountable for the murder of George Floyd. But the underlying racism – systemic, implicit, and overt – that drove this crime continues. Families USA stands in opposition to this ongoing injustice — in society and the health care system specifically — and recommits itself to dismantling structural racism.

Families USA, a leading national voice for health care consumers, is dedicated to the achievement of high-quality, affordable health care and improved health for all.
