Media Advisory: The Coalition for Fair Drug Prices Will Hold a Tele-briefing on the Need to Protect Consumers with Improved Federal Policy Solutions
Washington, D.C. – The Coalition for Fair Drug Prices—consisting of 12 organizations (see list below)representing health care consumers, labor unions and health care providers—will hold a media briefing on Thursday, March 21 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern to release its Statement of Principles for prescription drug policy. The coalition’s goal is to hold policymakers responsible for enacting policies that will prevent high and rising prescription drug prices.
The Coalition also wants to amplify the voices of people like Linda Massey, a retired nurse who relies on expensive prescriptions and is worried about her long-term ability to afford them. Unless more robust efforts are made to address high and rising drug prices, many people will be forced to choose between their health and their financial wellbeing in order to get the drugs they need.
