Media Advisory – Families USA’s Frederick Isasi to Speak at June 29 Health Equity Event on Alternative Payment Models

Frederick Isasi, Executive Director of Families USA, will be speaking at a briefing on June 29 (12:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. ET), Alternative Payment Models: A Springboard for Achieving an Equitable Healthcare System.

Isasi will discuss how payment and delivery reforms can be powerful tools to address the underlying root causes of health disparities when done correctly. He will underscore that without a laser focus on health disparities, new payment and delivery models could worsen the gap in outcomes for people of color, rural communities, and others. And he will drive home how critical it is that reform efforts bring health equity right into the center of re-design and then measure and monitor impact of these reform efforts on vulnerable communities and populations.

To speak with Isasi about his remarks for the briefing or Families USA’s health equity priorities, please contact Lisa Holland, lholland@familiesusa.org.

Alternative Payment Models: A Springboard for Achieving an Equitable Healthcare System

WHAT: Value-based payment models cause healthcare providers to focus on the health of an attributed population, incenting equitable and patient-centered care. These models drive healthcare providers to think and act differently than under a fee-for-service payment system.

Join us to hear from pioneering healthcare providers how these models have inspired innovations in caring for patients and populations. Learn what steps Congress and policymakers can take to advance a more equitable and patient-centered healthcare system.
