House Joins Senate in Voting to Begin Repeal of the Affordable Care Act
Washington, D.C. – Following is the statement of Ron Pollack, executive director of Families USA, on today’s vote in the House of Representatives on a budget resolution that could set the stage for repeal of the Affordable Care Act (ACA):
“Republicans in both houses of Congress have now voted to begin the process of repealing the Affordable Care Act. Despite concerns from hospitals, providers, insurers, and, most importantly, patients, Republicans have insisted on fast-tracking repeal without letting people in America know how their coverage and care will be protected. We all deserve better, especially when the price for Republican recklessness could be a wrecked health care system that costs millions their insurance, with millions more paying higher premiums. We all deserve more than empty promises.”
