Families USA’s Renowned Story Bank Gets Major Boost with the Appointment of
Kasey Hampton as Senior Manager of Storytelling and Engagement Communications
Hampton will help advance policy solutions, ensure consumer voices are heard
Washington, D.C. – Building on years of successfully highlighting consumer stories via the media and Capitol Hill testimonies, Families USA has appointed an experienced communicator to oversee its story bank.
As the organization’s new Senior Manager of Storytelling and Engagement Communications, Kasey Hampton will help advance policy solutions by amplifying the lived experiences of America’s health care consumers. Her portfolio includes developing an integrated storytelling strategy, establishing and maintaining storytelling partnerships with mission-focused organizations, curating consumer stories, and finding innovative ways to showcase those stories to the media, partner organizations, and members of Congress.
Hampton brings a breadth of communications, health care policy, and Capitol Hill expertise to the position. Prior to joining Families USA, Hampton was Press Secretary for U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) — one of the Senate’s leading and vocal health care champions.
Her experience also includes highlighting the stories of millions of Americans who rely on the Affordable Care Act for quality health insurance coverage as part of Protect Our Care’s 2017 campaign to defend against efforts to repeal it and supporting the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Public Affairs on various initiatives ranging from Open Enrollment to the 2016 Zika outbreak. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Economics from Bucknell University.
“Kasey’s experience working on Capitol Hill and in the federal government, coupled with her communications and health care policy acumen make her an ideal fit for this role,” said Frederick Isasi, Executive Director of Families USA.” “Her solid track record and compassion for amplifying everyday Americans’ experiences getting the health and health care they need will be a tremendous asset to us as we work to expand our story bank and ensure that no family has to choose between going to the doctor or paying their rent.”
“I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Families USA and working in support of their mission to ensure everyone has access to the best health and health care,” said Hampton. “Families USA has a proud history of elevating the voices of so many Americans who want to see real solutions to improve our nation’s health care system, and I look forward to continuing that important work.”
