Families USA Welcomes National Health Care Expert Stan Dorn as Senior Fellow

Washington, D.C. – Families USA, one of the nation’s leading health care consumer organizations, today announced that award-winning, nationally-recognized health care expert Stan Dorn will be joining the organization as its new Senior Fellow. Mr. Dorn is currently a Senior Fellow and Senior Research Associate at the Urban Institute and will begin his new duties at Families USA on July 6.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have someone with Stan’s impeccable research credentials and stellar reputation joining Families USA,” said Frederick Isasi, executive director of Families USA. “Stan has worked on low-income health care issues for more than 30 years and brings with him a deep expertise that is only matched by his great passion for these issues. His work is respected and praised by policymakers on both sides of the aisle and we look forward to tapping into his vast experience as we navigate the immense challenges that face our health care system.”

Mr. Dorn has worked at Urban Institute since 2006, earning the 2013 President’s Award for Outstanding Research. Prior to his work at the Urban Institute, Mr. Dorn served as Senior Policy Analyst for the Economic and Social Research Institute. He has also held directorships at the National Health Law Program and the Children’s Defense Fund and is the author or co-author of more than 200 research papers and presentations on health care and the health care industry. Mr. Dorn holds an A.B. in Philosophy from Harvard University and a J.D. from the University of California.
