Families USA Releases ACA Replacement Plan Guideline

Washington, D.C. – Families USA today issued a report, “Eight Ways to Judge Republican ACA Replacement Plans,” which offers guidelines the media, stakeholders and consumers can use to judge how Republican proposals stack up against the existing health care law.

“If Congress and the Trump Administration are serious about protecting the gains achieved thus far, their proposed plans should be judged against what the ACA accomplished when they took full control of the U.S. government,” the checklist says in its opening.

The 10-page report offers a reliable resource to counter Republican claims that they are replacing the ACA with something that offers the same financial and consumer protections the present law already offers.

“We are going to be hearing a lot from Republicans in the weeks and months to come about how their replacement plans will offer consumers all the benefits the ACA already provides,” said Ron Pollack, executive director of Families USA. “With this report as a guide, people will be able to judge the truth of these claims for themselves.”
