Lorelai Barrett (She/They)
Government Relations Intern
Lorelai comes to Families USA with a background in campaign and student finance. She also brings experience working directly with older adults in care facilities. She is the Fundraising Chair of the University of Arizona Health Advocacy and Policy Club and a member of the Fostering and Achieving Cultural Equity and Sensitivity in the Health Professions organization. Lorelai is currently pursuing a B.A. in Public Affairs with an emphasis on public policy at the University of Arizona. She also has minors in Professional and Technical Writing, Creative Writing, and Music and will be starting a Master of Public Affairs program in the fall.
Arrie Dawson (She/Her)
Strategic Partnerships Intern
Arrie recently obtained a B.A. in Health Studies at Temple University. She is passionate about patient care, digital health solutions, and health care administration. Arrie brings a strong background in managing health care data, having conducted several research projects, and experience as a medical scribe at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She has also researched the connection between health data trends and public health. Additionally, she holds an A.A.S in Health Information Management from Price George’s Community College.
Olivia Frakt (She/Her)
Health Policy Intern
Olivia brings experience in public health and applied research. She has worked on community health projects as an intern at the Department of Health and Human Services and currently serves as Co-President and Education Chair of Claremont Students for Public Health. Olivia also works as a Research Assistant at the Rose Institute of State and Local Government, where she conducts policy research and analysis on state and local issues. Most recently, Olivia spent four months conducting research in Nepal with the Nepal Health Research Council, examining health care access in rural Himalayan communities. She plans to continue this work through future collaborations with the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal. Her experience as a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Hut Crew has further strengthened her understanding of health, safety, and service delivery in remote and resource-limited environments, complementing her research on access to care in mountainous regions. Olivia is a rising senior at Scripps College, earning a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Public Policy through Claremont McKenna College, with a minor in Fine Arts.
Juniper Nguyen (She/Her)
Communications Intern
Juniper is a junior at the University of Florida earning a B.S. in Marketing and a minor in Economics & Chinese Studies. She brings significant skills in content creation, with experience creating and editing social media videos and graphics, tracking engagement, and managing large social media platforms. She worked as a Marketing Intern for Beautifully Waiting LLC and for ETEST VIETNAM, as well as managing her own TikTok account focusing on education. She has also worked as a professional selling and statistics teaching assistant and a business undergraduate mentor. She was a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA) and the Asian Business Student Association (ABSA) and has conducted several extensive marketing research projects.
Adelaide Tranel (She/Her)
Health Policy Intern
Adelaide comes to Families USA with experience in research, communications, and collaborative leadership. She is passionate about pursuing law and policy to eradicate systemic inequalities, particularly in health care and education. She has worked to help expand non-profit communications and development through her past internship at the Chicago Women’s Health Center, helping support a client-centered model of care amidst severe federal budget cuts to health care. She also has leadership experience through her current role as Co-Director of Programming for Women+ in Law and coordinates local philanthropy initiatives as Vice President of Community Relations in her sorority. Adelaide is currently earning a B.A. in Comparative Human Development & Law, Letters, and Society, with a focus in political economy, at the University of Chicago.
