Lauren Rosenbaum Appointed Director of Strategic Partnerships at Families USA
Washington, D.C., April 29, 2020 – Lauren Rosenbaum has been appointed Director of Strategic Partnerships at Families USA.
Rosenbaum—a coalition-building expert—works to grow relationships with national, state, local and industry-level partners that cut across the organization’s four focus areas: health care value, health equity, coverage and consumer experience.
Most recently, she managed U.S. external affairs in the financial empowerment space at Accion, including serving as Accion’s representative on the executive committee of the Responsible Business Lending Coalition. Prior to her role at Accion, she worked for a health care management consulting firm, Atlas Research, and a strategic communications firm, GMMB, focusing on initiatives such as expanding access to health insurance for low- and moderate-income families, improving the Veterans’ health care system and reducing chronic homelessness. In her role at GMMB, Lauren worked with Families USA in telling the stories of families who benefitted from expanded access to Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and private health insurance. Rosenbaum’s background also includes working as a Field Organizer at for President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, with health care affordability being a central concern that motivated voters and volunteers. She holds a master’s degree in health policy from George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in government and Spanish from Dartmouth College.
“As a consummate coalition professional, Lauren understands how critical it is to establish and maintain collaborations with a cross-section of groups. In addition to her acumen in the areas of campaign management and strategic communications, she is committed to removing barriers that prevent families from reaching their optimal health,” said Lisa Hunter, Families USA’s Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships.
“The unprecedented crisis we are currently experiencing is a strong illustration of the importance of access to quality, affordable health care for all, as well as the danger of widespread financial instability to the health and well-being of our communities,” Rosenbaum said. “Joining Families USA is an exciting opportunity to invest in the cross-sector collaboration and coalition-building that is needed to address these challenges.”
