Public Health and Health Policy Icon Dr. James Kimmey Joins the Board of Directors at Families USA

Washington, D.C., April 21, 2020 – Dr. James Kimmey has been appointed to the Board of Directors at Families USA.

A leading health care and education professional, Dr. Kimmey is Professor Emeritus of Public Health at Saint Louis University. He served at the university for 14 years in various roles as a key member of the administration—Director of the Center for Health Services Education and Research; founding Dean of the School of Public Health; Vice President for Health Sciences; and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Dr. Kimmey, who has previously served on Families USA’s board, was the founding President and CEO of the Missouri Foundation for Health. He continues his work in the health care and education fields through involvement on national, state and local boards and advisory committees—including Families USA’s Policy and Communications (which he chairs), Strategic Planning and Personnel committees.

“Jim is a dedicated health care and education advocate who understands our mission overall but especially as it relates to the current health care crisis,” said Frederick Isasi, Executive Director of Families USA. “His expertise and passion will be beneficial to us as we work to ensure that people have unencumbered access to the health care services they need during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.”
