Families USA Comment on “Coverage of Certain Preventive Services Under the ACA”

Families USA commented in support of a proposed rule to address coverage of contraceptive services under the Affordable Care Act. Achieving improved health for all requires that birthing people have the ability to choose whether and when they become pregnant and have a child; given the critical importance of contraceptives for women’s health and wellbeing, access to contraceptive services should not rely on a patient’s ability to pay. Overall, Families USA supports the proposed rule to establish Individual Contraceptive Arrangements specifically as it ensures access to essential health care services, and provides suggestions for additional amendments.
