Stakeholders Submit Letter to Congressional Leadership on End-of-Year Medicaid Priorities

Families USA, along with a diverse group of co-signers representing a broad coalition of national partners, submitted a letter addressed to congressional leadership that urges lawmakers to strengthen Medicaid as part of any end-of-year legislation. The letter asks lawmakers to prioritize the following actions to strengthen Medicaid and ensure its ability to meet the needs of our nation’s low-income families: Protect maternal and child health; Strengthen guardrails for resumption of eligibility redeterminations; Create sustainable Medicaid financing for U.S. territories; Enable states to provide coverage to incarcerated individuals prior to their reentry to the
community; and Establish permanent solutions to allow older adults and people with disabilities to stay at home as they age.

These policies have been proven to improve health care and advance health, and it’s time for Congress to invest in what works.
