Families USA filed an amicus brief in the Texas v. US case that threatens the entire Affordable Care Act, on appeal in the US Court of Appeals of the Fifth Circuit. Cosigners of the amicus include the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, Community Catalyst, the National Health Law Program and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).
Consumers First is a new alliance that brings together powerful interests from consumers, children, employers, labor unions, and primary care providers working to change the fundamental economic incentives and design of the health care system. Our work is to realign the incentives and design of health care so that the system truly delivers the health and high quality care that all families across our nation deserve.
Families and health care consumers across America want and deserve meaningful reforms that target and reduce the underlying prices of drugs so they are not forced to choose between their health and financial security to get the medication they need.

Patients deserve evidence-based, high-value health care rooted in the most rigorous scientific methods. However, research practices that generate our current evidence base have historically excluded a number of communities and patient perspectives. This incomplete, and sometimes biased evidence base has limited effectiveness and applicability for diverse populations, and risks widening racial, ethnic, and other inequities.
For more than 30 years, Families USA has played a leadership role at the national and state level in the effort for high-quality, affordable, health care and coverage for all Americans.
