5 Reasons Why You Need to Come to Health Action 2018

Raven Gomez

Partnerships Coordinator

Families USA’s Health Action 2018 conference will play a critical role in shaping the future direction of health care, and you really can’t afford to miss it! This year, we will be “Staying Strong for America’s Families”, as we continue to fight for quality, affordable health care for all. If you still haven’t registered, here are five reasons why you won’t want to miss Health Action 2018:

1. Incredible networking opportunities

Health Action brings hundreds of health care advocates, policy wonks, and enrollment workers together to talk strategy and plan for the challenges ahead facing the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Medicaid, and other vital health care programs, with folks who share the same problems and concerns.

2. Informative workshop sessions

With over twenty different workshops to choose from, ranging from classic workshops like “A View from the Hill” to workshops on Medicaid waivers Community Health Workers, and single payer, you’ll expand your skillset and learn innovative ideas that you can bring back to your organization.

3. Inspirational plenaries

We will be bringing together critical policymakers and leaders to educate and inspire you to stay strong in the health care fight. With past speakers including President Barack Obama, Reverend Barber, and U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, Health Action 2018 will continue to bring the inspiration to keep you energized and invigorated in your work.

4. Insight into the current national landscape

The Health Action conference will be a crucial time to convene and plan for the challenges ahead in order to ready our defenses for the upcoming year. You’ll hear from high-profile leaders in Washington and learn about the latest legislative efforts and advances being made to address a variety of national level issues.

5. Celebrate the victories of the past year

Repeal of the ACA has been the top priority for the current Administration, but because of advocates like you, the ACA is still in place and millions of American’s have remained insured despite the constant threat of repeal. Health Action is the perfect place to celebrate these successes, as well as the Consumer Health Advocates of the Year, who have been leaders in the movement to create a nation where health care is equally accessible to all!
